PSA 25, I'd like to see this available to us...

It seems to be back up now.

I e-mailed them asking if they would consider making/submitting a MA compliant version.

They don't seem to manufacture that many of these pistols, in 2006, only 61 would manufactured in total. They have been in production since 1986.

That was quick, the response I received (I e-mailed him some info w/ a link on the MA laws)...
Thanks for the link. I'll read the info and report back to you later today on what my impressions are about the likelihood of our getting on the list. Best wishes. Lenn kristal, president, precision small arms, inc.

Interesting. But if you've ever owned or fired a Baby Browning, you know that it is (a) better than nothing but (b) not by much.

Some years ago, I was in a gun shop looking for something minor (patches?) and spotted a Baby Browning in the counter of used pistols. The tag on it said "$75." The pistol had 95% of its original brilliant blue finish. I asked to inspect it and found all numbers matched, and indicated manufacture sometime in the 1950s. I quickly wrote out a check.

I purchased this pistol because it met Criterion No. 1 for Buying a Gun (to wit: I didn't already own one of that model). That, however, is its only saving grace.

We'll probably get those here the same time we get Kahr's, Taurus's, HK's, Kel-tec's, NAA's, and Seecamp's .380...... Just after Hell freezes over...... haha

I can think of 1000 other guns I'd rather see get certified before anything in .25 ACP. [laugh]

That's not really the point... if it comes to carry guns for personal protection, there are way better options and that goes without saying.

How many true pocket pistols are on the approved list? One, the Seecamp. There are plenty of compact and full size 9's, 40's, .38's & .357's (etc.) available to us... celebrate diversity... the same old stuff is getting boring. If I could move out of this state... I would.

The PSA's Baby Browning clones are quality guns... and less expensive than a NIB FN (unless you get lucky).

I'd rather see the Rohrbaugh R9 certified, and probably a bunch of the NAA pocket pistols, KelTec's and clones, etc...

.25 ACP? Is this a frigging joke? Might as well keep a sling-shot in your back pocket.

[rolleyes]

We already covered that about 3 or 4 posts back...

ETA: you are in RI... have some sympathy for us folks located at earths @sshole (Massachusetts).

I'd like to see all of the above available... make some phone calls... at the very least, e-mail the manufacturers.

I always hear people bitch about the meager selection of handguns we can buy here in MA, but nobody wants to get off their butt and take action.

Sure, a lot of manufacturers don't see any market here, maybe some phone calls and e-mails can change that. "But... I've already tried"... WELL, LET'S TRY SOME MORE...

What's your point? The caliber still sucks. Just because you like the gun doesn't mean we all have to.

Only for the past year and a half, before that I spent my whole life in MA.

The caliber sucks? In a dream world SHTF situation or the very MINUTE possibility that one may have to use a firearm for self defense, sure. But where in my thread did I say this would be the master of disaster carry piece? Nowhere. Not everyone buys a firearm for those reasons. I would simply like to see another true pocket pistol (current production) available here.

Maybe next week we can do AR vs AK or 9mm vs 45 ACP [rolleyes]

Bauer made the original copies of the Baby Browning. I have one. They were made in Fraser, Michigan. Then the company changed hands and went under the name Fraser arms. (Fraser .25) Now PSA makes the little pea-shooter. All three companies that made the gun apparently have similar quality. I've had some problems with mine but this little bugger still shoots every time.

Seecamp .32acp - Not my first choice
S&W 642
S&W 637

Now your just blowing smoke. The AR vs AK, Glock vs 1911 arguments have nothing to do with this thread or the .25 ACP be a stupid cartridge in this day and age. I will always agree that a .25acp is better than nothing, but if the shit hit the fan I can tell you a .25acp would be a last resort round for me. The ballistics and knock down power suck on it, and the ammo is way over priced due to the fact that it is produced in small quantity's because most other people agree that the cartridge sucks.

Again, you fail to grasp the bigger picture here... I have a soft spot for traditional pocket pistols, which is why I like 25 ACP. The Seecamp is the only autoloader available in this state (current production) and I already own one. You can say 25 ACP "thuckths" all day long and that's your personal opinion. It's really apples and oranges.

I don't know anyone in their right mind that would carry any pocket pistol as a primary - for MANY reasons. As a back up to my primary, sure, maybe. And as far as J frames are concerned, I already own plenty... and I wouldn't choose one as my primary either... maybe on a truly HOT day, but my commander size 1911 is easily concealable on me.

AND... the shit ain't hitting the fan and you aren't using any of your firearms to defend your life. I buy quality/reliable guns that are FUN to shoot. The ability to drop a 250 lb man with one or two shots really means nothing to me because the chances of it happening... well, it ain't happening.

The argument is as absurd as 9mm vs 45 ACP or any of the other timeless intrawebz classics. Yes 25 ACP is one of the worst self defense rounds ever... and I'm sure we all know the history of the round... if you don't like it, don't buy it, I personally want more variety.

Well there's enough said right there, looks like I am not going to go anywhere with this one.

I admire your admiration on trying to turn the world on to the 25.ACP and maybe someone will listen to you and create even better pocket pistols capable of shooting this cartridge and other cartridges similar to it.
