Is there a place I can go to shoot my sig 556 and not be a member? I want to join danvers fish and game but membership doesn't open until april and I don't have any sponsors.

Come to Cape Ann in Gloucester on Sundays 9-12
Public shooting during that time on the 100 yard outdoor covered range and pistol range.

Located just off 128 at the first traffic circle.

The only public range around us is Bob's Original in Salisbury, Mass but no high powered rifles. The Firing Line in Manchester, N.H. is 55 minutes from Beverly; 128 to 93 to 101 to Brown Ave. I've heard that Danvers Fish & Game is great but they have very limited hours. I belong to Mass Rifle in Woburn. It's 20 minutes away ( behind Cummings Park just off of Washington Street ) and I can shoot (indoors 25yds up to .50 Beowolf) 24 hours a day. I usually only have free time at night so it's great for me.

I thought of joining woburn but heard you can only have one round chambered at the rifle range so I'm all set.

You heard wrong. That rule applys to the 100/200 range, I think. As I said before, I really only go at night and have never used any of the outdoor ranges. I use my 30rd AR mags all the time indoors. I wouldn't rely on hearsay, I'd check it out for myself. Ask Massman, he's offered to give people the tour before.

The rule referenced does apply to the 100/200 yard rifle range. I regulary shoot my AR on this range. While the rule is annoying, it hasn't stopped me from using the range.
lewis, if you are interested, I would be more than happy to show you around.

I do appreciate the offer but that one round thing is stupid. It really turns me off from joining. It'd be like I have my 8 preban mags for nothing.
