OK,

I know AK's are notorious for trigger slap, but it was my understanding that this happened from the slide racking back while your finger is on the trigger, causing the trigger to rebound and "slap" your finger.

Is this correct? I haven't actually experienced true trigger slap since the AK's I've shot have been modified to eliminate it.

My issue is with my new to me Mosin. After 10 rounds my trigger finger had turned purple and hurt like hell, but I don't understand why. Is it just the rebound of the rifle off my shoulder? Any I doing something silly?

(FWIW, the BOOM is almost worth the pain! [smile])

Thanks,
Matt

I dunno, usually after 10 rounds my shoulder hurts like hell, lol. However, I have not experienced anything with the trigger on my M44 that would relate to what you're experiencing.

Unless I'm mistaken, true trigger slap revolves around the trigger resetting with a semi-auto rifle. My SAR-1 (AK Clone) had terrible slap until I swapped out some parts in the trigger group. Now no more trigger slap.

Seeing your Mosin is a bolt action, the trigger doesn't reset until you cycle the bolt. Have no idea why your finger would be purple unless your just holding on real tight due to the recoil

if you guys are sore after less then 300 rounds in a day then your holding the rifle wrong.

I think I figured it out dryfiring tonight.

My trigger finger rest naturally at the bottom of the trigger, where there is a sharp edge. I think in the recoil that sharp edge is digging into my fingertip. I have a little bit of the same problem with my SIG P226.

Guess I have fat finger tips!
