Anyone here have one of these?

I've seen them here and there at shows and always figured 35 Remington is impossible to find so I always passed on them. Something about this rifle just seems neat to me.
 
Yup - both the Model 8 in .35 REM and the later Model 81 in .300 Savage:



You can find .35 REM here and there - usually at gun shows, but (of course) it's easier just to roll your own.

My model 8 sports a Griffin and Howe scope mount and a Lyman Alaskan scope.

I like the 81's better for their pistol grip. The design is similar to a Browning A5. Lots of them you find now have holes drilled into the receiver for mounting a scope at some time. The coolest ones were the ones modified for law enforcement to accept a 15 round detachable magazine.
