7.85 million rifles being recalled...



The settlement covers more than a dozen models, specifically the Model 700, Seven, Sportsman 78, 673, 710, 715, 770, 600, 660, XP-100, 721, 722 and 725.

Semantics, but I believe Remington is NOT recalling any guns but is offering fixes to the triggers in the listed guns.

New remington 700's shouldn't have this issue anymore right? Yesterday i was eyeing a 700 SPS tactical but held off on pulling the trigger figuratively speaking.

I wonder how many owners lost licenses on claim NDs with the rem 700. This is such a big cluster considering the designer made claims in the 40s that this could happen.

"Voluntary recall"... their verbiage. Regardless - fixing the triggers on almost 8 million guns is going to be a huge financial burden.

Probably not. I would imagine it will take time for the new trigger assembly to work it's way into existing inventory on the shelves. Maybe get a Savage instead...

Search for remington 700 safety malfunction on you tube and there a lot of people documenting how to reproduce this. So I guess they could only deny the issue for so long...

I'll have to use that xmprecall site to see the serial number. It was a 700 AAC with a 16.5" barrel and it was such a eyecatcher.
