Just wanted to share a good experience I had....
I bought my daughter a Remington XR-100 rifle in .223 a week ago. She's got a birthday coming up and also (hopefully) she'll be finishing college in December, so it was a kind of a multi-occassion gift.
I've been anxious to get the thing to the range to break-in the barrel and see what it might do for groups. Our Winter Matches at Old Colony start this coming Sunday so the time to get it done was growing short.
I sat down at the bench with it and started the BORING break-in procedure. By the time I got done I had a five shot group inside a half inch circle at 100 yds. and there wasn't a trace of copper to be found from start to finish.
If any of you ever have a chance to get your hands on one of these for target work out to 300 yds., it would surely be worth a look.

It was just a little over eight bills........
Now, I've got to turn my attention to a decent target scope for it. (the 9X I used to break it in just isn't gonna cut it.)

Derek,
With the slow 1X12 twist, I didn't see much point in going any heavier than 55 grains.
Actually, the 55 grn. Sierra GameKing over 20.5 of H4198 is what gave me that decent group.
Had I spent a little more time with it, I'd have played with the 53 SMKs a little more. Two or three of the loads I used with that bullet got me inside an inch.

Remington lists three available calibers; .204, .223, & 22-250.
1X12 is the quickest twist they show in the specs.
If the these rifles prove to be popular as time goes on, who knows how many options they might offer to meet the needs of different competitions.
A 6mm chambering might be cool for long range work.
