What would be the best way to remove a bayo lug from a barrel ?
Milling,Grinding, or Cutoff Wheel ? I'm guessing Milling would be best, but I don't have a mill. And the cutoff wheel and grinding would create a lot of heat and sparks. Would an AR barrel withstand the heat generated in the lug area by grinding it off ?
thanks, jim

No problem grinding or using cutoff wheel. I doubt you will do more to heat it up than mag dumps. They are made to take a beating.

...

Cut the bottom part off through the narrow part, with a fine tooth hacksaw (32tpi).
File any remaining of the narrow part and dress the sharp edges.
Touch up the bare metal with a cold blue pen or black sharpie marker.

Or just ignore the darn thing and go shooting. Nobody really gives a rats' fanny about bayonet lugs.
