I figured it's about time to replace the springs on my Smith and Wesson 6906. The large spring is pretty weak, so I got a spring set and replaced that one. Nice smooth action now. Is there a guide for replacing the other springs in the gun? The spring set came with so many, might as well replace as many as I can since I have them. I search for a manual for it and only found the generic one from Smith and Wessons website that is all inclusive for the majority of their steel frame centerfire semi-autos. Somebody point me in the right direction? Perhaps an exploded view of the gun exists that I havent found?

The 6906 is not an easy gun to disassemble. I would just replace the recoil and main (hammer) spring.

Let's see according to Numrich gun parts it has these springs, the Ejector Depressor Plunger Spring, Ejector Spring, Slide Stop Plunger Spring, Extractor Spring, Firing Pin Safety Lever Spring, Firing Pin Spring, Mainspring, Recoil Spring, Trigger Play Spring and the Trigger Plunger Spring.

Out of all those the only easy one is the recoil spring. Even the trigger spring which is usally a easy part to change can be a royal pain to change, the rest of them would be a major challange to just about any one, who isn't a gun smith.

If you really want to do it, go to Numrich and look at the 6909 schematics.

The mainspring is relatively easy to replace. Just remove the grip and the hammer strut is easy to get at. Remove old spring, replace with new one and replace the grip. I agree that the trigger spring is a PITA to replace.
