Hey guys,

Newbie shooter here. Took my grandfather's Steven's Model 325-C out to the range this past weekend for the first time. Had a bad jam where the bolt actually became stuck about half-way thru chambering a round. Managed to man-handle it free. Upon further inspection, I found the following:

On the right side of the feed, it's the slightest bit straight, not curved.

The round that jammed:

This jam occurred fairly early in the session and did not happen again. I'm wondering how concerned I should be / whether this rifle needs to see a gunsmith for a repair?

I only have one magazine, parts are hard to come by (rifle was made in 1949-50). Out of approx. 40 rounds that I fired, this was the only hiccup and was in the first quarter that I fired. I wouldn't doubt that it could be an issue with the round itself, as I had two duds as well. Not sure that I'll be buying Fusion anymore...

Was the neck of the shell casing bent like that before loading it? If so I am quite sure that is the cause of the problem. If you shot 30 more rounds after that without incident then I wouldn't make much of an issue out of it until it happens again and more frequently.

When I'm loading the mags for my Beretta 92fs sometimes the rounds get stuck with their noses down like that and I have to nudge it up (a discussion in itself). Maybe that first round wasn't in the mag properly to begin with.

Or lube would be my second guess.
