rim fire and bowling pins

At our club, we shoot rimfire pins in one of two ways: either the full pins are positioned right on the back edge of the table, or the pins are cut off at the neck and we only shoot at the top part, placed on the tables at their regular position. In either case, the secret is "hit the pin" (preferably in the center). There's enough time to aim and hit each pin with the first shot. If you do, they'll usually fall. There's seldom enough time to go back to make up missed pins.

But then, that's just my opinion... I could be wrong.
