I live in NH and planing to buy a Ruger 10/22 stock version. I have plans to move to MA in the next couple years and if I replace my stock with a tactical one, will it be legal in MA now due to the "Assault Weapon Ban" in MA and the current interpretation of it?

Somebody get this man to a doctor, quick!

The AG's new law exempts .22lr as copy cats. That's all...it still cannot have more than 2 killy features, I believe.
That's not what the AG has said. Per the AG website any .22 rimfire rifle is not an assault weapon. So put as many pistol grips and grenade launchers on it as you can fit.....if you believe her word is law.

So, if I got a non-collapsible stock with a pistol grip and a muzzle break - I'll be Ok?
Call the AG's office and ask them that question. Healey says .22 rimfire rifles are not assault weapons The law says otherwise regarding what is and what is not an assault weapon.

Her word is NOT law and does NOT supersede the AWB in C. 140, but good luck if you want to play that card in a MA courtroom.

If you go by the law you get your detach mag and 1 of the evil features.
Pistol grip, flash hider, bayonet lug, colapzable stock. Muzzle break must be pinned and welded.
Good luck.

Are you saying we can't use her assault weapon FAQ section as a get out of jail free card? Guess I need to return the grenade launcher I just got for my 10/22.

From talking with some police officers it seems to be status quo (to pre-7/20) with them, they are as confused as the rest of us.

2 months ago at the end of our NES-Natick meet and greet, a couple eaves-dropping on our conversations introduced himself as a Middlesex ADA. I welcomed the short discussion we had with him and wished his SO had spoken up earlier. He has my card and if I ever hear from him (he didn't give me his info) I will ask some questions. Next time I see my own DA (unlikely for a number of months) I will also ask him about the AG BS.

It is not a law, it is HER interpretation.
Trump was elected, but the liberals say "Not my President" and "We will not recognize" and "We will resist" and so on and so forth...
Well, following the liberal logic... I did not vote for her, and therefore, she is not MY attorney general, so my interpretation is 180 of hers, so, in conclusion, I can have whatever I want.

We could, however what if this gets them thinking but in the opposite direction to what we want?

I believe the requirement for the muzzle device is permanently attached, not necessarily pinned and welded.

Right, is there no definition on permanently attached.
Other than machined as part of the barrel I guess you would need to argue pinned and welded is "close" to permanent.
