Ruger SR1911

Was checking out my 15-year-old on this gun at the pistol bays today and got a lot of interest from the other folks there. Nothing like it for knocking over heavy metal targets!

I will say that we had our first stovepipe. but that was induced largely by human error. Son fired a round without having the magazine firmly inserted. Was a perfect opportunity to practice his "tap, rack, bang" and he did great!

I tell ya, it burned through $100 in ammo way too fast. [grin]

I better get mine soon, or I will be hijacking someone's. Glad you had a good time shooting her today. I love shooting steel.

I actually called around, and everyone said to just go to Ruger's site. Maybe that is the only place to get them??? If you ordered some, it would only take a few days to get here.

I've bought ammo in calibers I didn't have, hoping the gun would follow.

If I bought a set of these grips, d'ya think the SR would hear them calling?

I love my SR1911, I got it the first week Four Seasons had them, I think I got one of the last 3 they had in stock, blow way too much $$ on ammo, need to learn to reload or get a second job. Plan C, hit the lottery and buy an arsenal, If I do, promise to buy every member of NES a gun :)

Update: was shooting about 1.5" groups at 10 yards last weekend and managed to bullseye a quarter at that distance after about 10 rounds.

Grips have loosened up after about 200 rounds in total and I note that the hex screws are something between 2 and 2.5mm... I wonder if the guys at Ace would mind if I unholstered in the store to find the correct Allen wrench size?? [wink]
