I love their Single Actions. This one looks like fun. It's a 9 shot .22WMR

I had a buddy in Montana who had a similar gun, and I would shoot it all the time. It was pretty fun since I could blow through ammo all day without worrying about doing so. I think it was an 8 shot. No idea what brand it was

Yeah I am a fan of "cowboy guns" anyway, so I thought it was kind of cool. I would like to see another 1911 from Ruger, or an SR45/SR45c, but oh well.

Nice looking gun, but .22WMR is a mostly useless caliber.
Costs nearly as much to shoot as .38's and the accuracy isn't even equal to .22LR.
For a plinker I'd go with the .22LR version, which is a 10 shot, or get an older model Single Six with the extra .22WMR cylinder so you can shoot either caliber.

Yep. I am not a revolver guy but I do enjoy shooting my Single Six 22lr/22mag conversion kit. The .22mag was an interesting cartridge to me before I owned the gun and now I have another toy to plink with! The .22lr is hard to beat though and my SS has been flawless.

Nice addition for Ruger.

I like the .22 WMR in a long barrel. Carl @ FS ordered some ammo for me and it goes out at 2200fps and family/friends like it.

The 'regular' .22 LR is accurate as you stated. I have a some others in different lengths that can hit soda cans at 100 yds more often than not.

Notice I wrote they are capable and not necessarily me currently. [wink]

From the 80's.

Agreed. The only reason for .22WMR is hunting small game, but the accuracy falls off so quickly that it's not much good at that.

I'd have a .17 rimfire first. I wonder if they'll build a revolver for rimfire bottlenecks?

I was thinking the same thing.

So, how is this different from a Single Six with both cylinders?
