S&W .44 Magnum vs .357 Magnum

The SW Model 19 (blue) or it's more modern sister the 66 (stainless) would be my recommendation for a .357. The Model 65 is the same but with fixed sights. They'd all be around $500. Of course you could go with a 29 or 629 (.44mag), but you'll pay more for it and the ammo.

Since I see that this thread is show and tell.

I finally bought the bear gun I really wanted (Pics below are the S&W Classic Hunter in 6 inch barrel) and and will back it up with the S&W 460 as soon as I find one in the correct material Stainless steel and barrel length I'm looking for.

I’m thinking also a 6-7 inch barrel for the 460.

Any other thoughts on this?

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on these two revolvers. What are the pros and cons to each one? Can either of these be purchased brand new in MA? Is there a benefit to one over the other? Recoil?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
Both can be purchased new in Mass. As as been said you can shoot .38 spl. out of a .357 mag (38 spl is cheaper to shoot) with less recoil than a .357, and you can shoot .44 spl. out of a .44 mag (44 spl is more expensive shoot) with less recoil than a .44 mag.

.44 mag is more expensive to shoot compared to .357 mag and recoils more.

Respectfully,
jkelly
