I have a 39-2 9mm box papers 2 mags. It was stated as LNIB never fired. It is a nice looking gun. Fits my hand well and just well looks new!

Im undecided on weather to shoot this gun, it only has 8 round mags which was a surprise.

What would you do
Shoot it

safe queen

sell it as LNIB

Nice pistol...almost grabbed one of similar description a couple of years ago but missed it by a day!! I always loved the look of a 39. They have their issues as do most other firearms but I do love them.

Safe queeen maybe but value is marginal today, I say shoot it as it should be fun but selling it may be a good option for a few bucks. Make sure you give the NES'rs first shot!!

Enjoy!

Check it with a Magnet first. See if it is an alloy frame or steel. The steel gun can bring you a lot more money. I'd sell that and get something more up to date, though the 39 is a pro's classic.

Shoot it and keep it. Never sell a gun until you have it a long time and give it a chance. I think the biggest mistake gun owners make is they sell their guns to fast.

I vote sell, since it has collector interest and can be easily replaced by similar pistols.

The whole NIB market is different from the rest of the market. I only buy shooters from shooters, but I know a fellow with a collection of 22 firearms, 18 of which have never been fired.

Price I dont know, It came with a buy all or nothing estate. There where a few " I want those guns" I sold off the few I really did not want. I believe they where priced right as they sold quickly. If it is the alloy frame, which I believe it is. The ones I have seen around are 375-500 ? I have only seen on model 39 locally it was a steel frame @ ZHA I think it was around 1300.00???

If it is a 39-2 then it is an alloy frame. The steel frames were in the first 900 or so of the Model 39.

I voted safe queen because it's NIB....but I'm on the fence. It's my favorite 9mm pistol that I own...I love shooting mine. This may sound extreme but I think they have the best ergonomics of any pistol I've ever held. It's a classic and I would have a hard time parting with it.

I switched back from SIG to a 3913 for that and other reasons. Always been a great shooting pistol.

If it's steel then it has collector's value and treat it as such. If it's a later alloy gun, which it seems to be, it's a shooter, although in excellent condition. They are excellent shooting guns and very concealable which makes them good for self defense. The basic design is still in production as third generation weapons such as the Model 908. From the other replies, I think if you put it an ad in the classifieds at a reasonable price it will go fast.

I have a model 39-2 as well and its a great and fun gun to shoot. As long as you take good care of it, keep it cleaned and baby it..... shoot it. Why not? Remember, you cant take this stuff to the grave with you so enjoy them while you are here.

Again, take good care of it and it will never leave pristine condition.
