I recently purchased a Saiga 7.62 from classic arms (via B&K).

I have taken it to the range a few times, and have found it shoots way, way to the left. About 5-6" at 25 yards after centering the sight post. In order to hit center, I have the front sight all he way to the left, to the point where the post almost impacts the left sight ear. Note that this is not a grouping issue, it groups well, but as I said, way to the left.

Is this "normal", in that some Izshmash rifles are just off? Have others encountered this issue? I myself have not owned a firearm that required this level of sight adjustment.
I have attached some pictures for clarification, and a target I shot (100yds) after the adjustment

Thanks.

I don't know if its just me put those holes don't look like 7.62 to me...
Any how first off your front post is not centered at all. Is this the way the rifle came?

Even if it's not centered. From the pictures it looks like messed up. But wouldnt it shoot more to the right if that was the case

I assumed you haven't convert your saiga yet. So, why not talk to B&K and find some option about how to get the canted front sight fixed.

Thanks to responders for the answers.

dirtypacman: The rifle came with the sight post a little off to the right, the picture I attached is where it is now, after a couple range sessions and moving it left with a sight tool. The present location of the sight post (in the picture) causes the rifle to shoot center at 100 yards.

If its a pinned on FSB you can drift the pins out, tilt the block, file the holes a little and re-pin it. If its dimpled and crimped on you may be able to whack it with a BFH.

So apparently, Century Arms is sending some of the monkeys they have on staff to infect the Izhmash arsenal workers with sight-canting ebola? [laugh]

when you are paid for your labor with grains and potatoes, you aren't going to give a shit whether the sight is on straight or not. [laugh]

if it shoots on target now after the sight blade was adjusted, I wouldn't f with it.

I called Classic Arms, (who sold it to B&K), and described the issue, and they said immediately, (to paraphrase) "Atypical, Not acceptable, warranty issue" So they told me to call the importer, TGI/Wolf performance, who I left a message with.

Classic Arms had a very positive, "we will fix this for you" attitude, and said that TGI would also.

My front sights are both off-center just like your photo (maybe not quite so far), but mine hit pretty much where they're aimed.

good deal. Classic Arms are some good people to deal with. Glad that they still have that attitude even after the ownership change.

not happy with the shipping policy after the change though......I personally wouldnt accept that with a new rifle. I have delt with clasic in the past(previous owners) and they where 100%
