Savage 110 ba talk me out of it!!!

So an opportunity has presented itself that would allow me to buy a savage 110ba for a very good price... The question is do I really need a 338 lapua? Yes I want one one is rather a Barrett but I don't see myself buying that anytime soon!!!

Yes you really want one, no you don't want to feed it. They only like Lapua brass, if you don't roll your own its going to cost you at least $5 every time you pull the trigger.

They are a blast to shoot but it doesn't get taken out as much as they other rifles.

I was interested in one until I found out that ammo was $5 per shot. I came back down to earth when I realized that a 308 Win/762 Nato round will do the same job for a lot less money unless you are shooting at extremely long distances which are not available locally. Still love the gun and the round, just can't justify purchasing one.

As others have said, plan on reloading for it. If you can stomach the price per round, they sure are fun!

I got the opportunity to shoot one once, if I had the cash kicking around it'd be in my safe for sure. Awesome is all I can say, I'd take it over a fifty but that's just me.

I haven't used the .338LM one, but I have put ~30 rounds through the .300WinMag version. I wasn't a fan of the magazine. I had some insertion/removal issues and feed issues.
