savage 111 long action

I recently looked at a savage 111 in 300 win mag. it kinda beat up. minor dings on barrel. looks like it just needs a good cleaning and maybe some upgrades (stock,Trigger). My question is is it worth it to pick this up and fix it into a long range shooter or should I pass and look at something else. Keep in mind im on a tight budget.

We have them brand new in the box with scope for $350.00 at Dicks Sporting Goods, so if you're budget allows for an extra hundred, you could be going for the same gun brand new....

We did as of last week - I haven't checked the stock yet this week, but will let you know. If we have it and you want it, we can have it transfered to a store near you...If not, it may be a good excuse to come shooting in the Berkshires...
