I have been searching for a bolt action 22. Today I found it. It's a used Savage/Anschutz mark11 y, wood stock, 24" barrel made in Canada. It looks brand new. It had no papers or info of any kind. It's also left handed which is why I feel very happy about this.. I had pretty much settled on having to get a right hand bolt gun. I can't find info on this gun. It has a stainless bolt and trigger. I don't know if it came that way or was added. If anyone can tell me about my new gun I would appreciate it. Thanks

That one is a stumper. I've seen Savage/Anschutz Model 10's, but never heard of a Mark11. And made in Canada? West germany is usually the rule on those. Unless it's a Anschutz/Savage, in which case Savage made it, but that would be Chicoppee, or Westfield, Mass, not Canada.
I'll see what I can dig up.

It might be a Lakefield, the were the folks that originally designed the Mark II. Savage bought them and continued to build Mark IIs.

My Lakefield has an Anschutz barrel.

It has made in Canada on it. Also it has the Savage, Ma stamped on the other side, as they must have imported it. I'm curious what year it was made. I've been searching google and can't find much.

Edit: It states made in Canada imported by Savage Arms. A poster at rimfirecental states it's an old target rifle at least 25 years old.

I got this with an internet search of someone searching about Savage/Anschutz, seemed to make sense. Although I can't find anything about my model.

"between the period of 1963 - 1981 Savage manufactured rifles using the Savage model 110 action for sale in Europe and these were called Anschutz-Savage rifles. In that period Savage manufactured rifles for sale in the US and these rifles used the much more desirable Anschutz model 64 action and these rifles were called Savage-Anschutz. I've talked to several people who are much more knowledgable in this subject than myself and they all verified this as fact. So, if you have a "Savage-Anschutz" marked rifle, you have a reallly good, and rare one. Hope this helps................Van

Can you take a pic of the bolt and action? Also does out say where in canada it was made?

Ron, do you have any extraction problems. Cci blazers and mini mags will not extract, non of them. But federal AM22 worked just fine.
