Scenario for you - have a think

Here is the scenario:


  1. You've lost all your guns & accessories - absolutely everything (from e.g. Tsunami, earthquake, fire / whatever - it's all gone)
  2. You have $7500 to spend to cover all your needs, both firearms and accessories (lights, scopes, holsters etc..). Different people have different needs, but the $7500 must cover your priority needs, e.g.
    1. HD
    2. Plinking
    3. Sport / Target
    4. Hunting
    5. Insurrection
  3. You don't need to spend all the money, it's a limit!

So with all your experience and knowledge, and an opportunity to start over, what would you buy and why?
 
Safe $1000
Various ammo $1000
sig p226 $850
sig p938 $800
saiga 12 $750
ak from your country of choice $1000
rem700 .308 with a new stock and glass $1400
ar15 from any Lego kit or manufacturer $1000

Tavor w/integrated optics
9mm conversion for above
Smithing costs and $200 tax stamp to SBR (shorten the 9mm barrel so it's legal for "concealed" carry in NH).
3 additional "standard capacity" magazines in each caliber.
Whatever is left goes for ammo.
 
Guns are lost or stolen -$0
Lose LTC because I'm now unsuitable -$0
Should I go to Foxwoods with the money or invest it? + $7500

You spent $300 over :p We can just take it from the ammo... I like the idea of the p938, it's not on the eopss MA list - damn!

1 Remington 870 with some mods (tube extension, maybe a new stock and grip)

Remington 700 (or maybe a Savage) with a Leopold or Zeiss (good scope is worth the money)

Haven't added up the cash, but I'm probably under so +/- the ammo numbers. Plus, this is sort of my prepper list, although the ammo figures may be different [thinking]

Bullpup, nice! Makes so much sense to get that extra barrel length. Don't like handguns?

OBR and glass.
BCM or DD carbine with T1.
Dedicated .22LR upper.
Glock 19 or M&P9.

Spend the rest on magazines and ammo.

$50 on 2 boresnakes, a can of CLP and a toothbrush.

AR or AK - AR ammo will be more available in SHTF but you can stockpile more AK ammo now
Pump shotgun (Rem 870 or Mossy) 12 ga of course
rem 700 or Savage in 308 or maybe 223(to keep ammo same as AR)
Sig 226/229 or Glock 17/19 in 9mm - depending on size full vs 'compact'
6 mags for pistols and rifles (min)
Load bearing vest, mag pouches, holster
2 good knives - one folder one fixed
10/22 or CZ 452/bolt gun for small game hunting

IMO a backup handgun would be nice but the Sigs are pretty damn bullet proof and could probably skip it. But a solid revolver would be a great backup (SW 686)

For the purposes of this exercise, the event that took my belongings also saw me relocate to a free state, so restrictions on mags etc are not part of the equation. I like making my own rules.

Sure that's within the rules! Surprised not more holsters on these lists.
