Is there a trick to removing and reinstalling a full lenght guide rod with an Allen wrench in a 1911?
I got the end off with the Allen wrench but the spring won't come out. So I put the bushing wrench on and twisted the bushing but that's stuck and wont pull forwards.
I even pulled back the barrel like you use to do with the Colt collet bushing but nothing worked.
I finaly got it apart, the spring was stuck and had to be yanked really hard, the barrel bushing was stuck and I hammered it off with the slide and the slide stop has to be replaced.
