Shield magazine mixup

I've had my 9mm Shield close to a year, never even took the extended mag out of the box until last week to see how it felt installed in the pistol. I decided to try it next range session and put it on my desk for my weekly trip to Harvard. Was toying with it and son of a bitch, it's a .40 S&W mag. Never noticed in all this time. Smith is going to swap it as soon as I send it out but damn, never encountered that before.

Same thing happened to a friend back in January. Smith sent him 2 additional mags for the inconvience.

That would be cool. Sent the mag back yesterday, we'll see if I get lucky. But to be fair, Smiths customer service has been super so can't complain.

In case anyone is wondering, I got the replacement mag in today. It took 78 days. And no, I didn't get two, just the one. So much for the inconvience. They told me I had to wait in the queue along with the people who were purchasing extra mags for the Shield until it was my turn. Several calls and emails reminding them it was their fault and why couldn't they just go to manufacturing and pull one to make this right just got me a bunch of snippy answers. Ended up I bought several 9mm mags for my shield elsewhere cause I thought this was a lost cause. This is closed anyway.

Pretty long wait there but at least they came through in the end. I have not had to deal with S&W customer service as of yet.

I just ordered an extra Mag from S&W 4 days ago and they said it's shipping thurs, well i got an index card today saying it's on Backorder. WTF
