Shotgun shooting in WMass

Are there any ranges in western MA that are setup for shotgun? I am picking up a Mossberg 500 this weekend and I would love to get out and shoot it a bit.

It is probably easiest to join a club. Springfield Sportsmans has a caretaker that lives on site and does the memberships so you might be able to join on the spot with cash. I know I did a few years ago. A few other in the area are Fairview in Chicopee, Chicopee Sportsmans in Granby and Westfield Sportsmans in Westfield.

I would not go to just any place right now with a shotgun to shoot as it is currently deer season and if you are near the woods with a shotgun and no license or orange on you will be cited for hunting violations if checked.

Ludlow Fish & Game does a LOT of shotgun, both skeet & trap... they also have a nice indoor handgun range.

Ludlow sounds ideal. I would like to be able to bring a pistol and shoot that as well. Westfield is pretty close to me but I don't believe they have an indoor range.

Westfield has a half @ss indoor range. You stand inside with heat and shoot out a window hands and face still get pretty cold. My .02 PM me if you have any other questions. You should look at Agawam Revolver Club they have a beatiful indoor range. The only downfall is there rifle range is only 75 yards.

actually fairview fish and game is in granby not chicopee

i agree it does have a great indoor range but i wont use it as you have to go into a bar to have the bartender let you into the range. i just dont like the idea of being in a bar with guns and having everyone else know what you are doing.

I just keep those two activities separate...
