I bought the Ruger SR1911 and had the same experience with my gunsmith. He said that with a little trigger job and some polishing, which almost every 1911 needs no matter what the cost, and its as nice as any on the market. Mine is in the shop now being tuned up as well as some fiber optic sights added. Can't wait to get it back
I have the Sig 1911 TTT, I love this gun very much and it has been nothing but flawless for me. I never pay mind to the 1911 purists, in my opinion little things like external extractors or a not having a rounded slide profile doesn't mean the Sigs aren't real 1911's. I think they look great and get the job done as good as any other 1911.

I'm with ya on that. That Sig profile was designed on purpose so you know what the pedigree is. As for external extractors, people have been arguing about it for ever. I don't own a Sig 1911 but have a couple of e series Smiths with externals and same thing, flawless. I'd have no problem owning a Sig 1911, and someday probably will. Those 1911 purists are usually Colt snobs and like to hear themselves talk. Myself, I do own a Colt 1911 or two but my favorite 2 range guns are the Smith 1911 e series 5" and a Remington R1 Enhanced (El Cheapo). That ought to make those purists cringe.I never pay mind to the 1911 purists, in my opinion little things like external extractors or a not having a rounded slide profile doesn't mean the Sigs aren't real 1911's.
