Just wondering how these are. I saw a real nice looking one at North shore a couple weeks ago and can't stop thinking about it.Price wasn't too bad either.Just looking for opinions and experiences as I don't have a 1911...[wink] yet.

I've got one of the stainless SIG GSRs, very nice. The fit and finish is awesome. The fit of the bushing to the barrel is so tight you have to run the slide back maybe an inch or so to turn it, but it's not binding in any way. Shoots great.

I have a Target Stainless. It is very accurate and has functioned flawlessly since I bought it.

The only real draw back is that holsters are a bit harder to find.

FWIW I like my Remington R1 TALO just as much and it was cheaper and is just as accurate

Is that available in Ma?

My buddy has one in stainless and absolutely loves it - claims it puts his Wilson Combat to shame. Might be a slight exaggeration, but I'd get one if I had the spare cash.

I have a Sig Target and love it. I have shot a few Colts and a S. A. Range Officer, and did prefer these over the Sig (just a feel and better trigger). But I would endorse the Sig all day long. Never had a FTF or FTE even tried limp wristing it to show my wife why a strong hold is important (yeah I looked like an idiot). Nice sights, tight gun all around.

I have one myself.
needed a few hundred rounds to break in.
works good so far.

but not lefty friendly, thumb safet only on left side.
factory mags recommended. other mags with stronge springs may cause feeding problem.

I bought my sig target about six months ago, and it is awesome. The only problem I have with it is the finish, the nitron holds oil for a long time and it makes the gun look blotchy with oily fingerprints on it. No matter how much you wipe it, it will take days to be a uniform shade of black. Maybe I'm just picky.
Debating trading it for something else, I need something in 9mm i think.

I have the Sig SS Target model and I love it. Trigger is super crisp and it's incredible comfortable to hold. Dead on accurate right out of the box too. Highly recommended.

I wound up getting a deal I couldn't refuse on the Sig 1911 target in stainless. I was all set to get the Remington R1 Enhanced when I found this at Sportsmans Den for 650 (used). It was less expensive and from what I could tell a nicer gun. It even came with night sights. After my first few hundred rounds I couldn't be happier! I've got to thank Ron for recommending this so strongly. My only problem now is I know I'm going to spend even more on ammo!

I saw that very same one when I was there! Nice pick up Jraysig!

I want one of these terribly. I have a s&w 1911es I'm in love with, but this sig is sex, I may have to have one.

That is def sexy. I've been lucky enough to pick up the SW1911 Gov't with rail and SW1911 pro series 3" compact, both have run flawlessly. Might add more to the list. Glocks and 1911's ahhh.

Sig 1911 Ultra, I just picked one up for $999.99.

What price?

I aways carried the Springfield XD Sub/Compact. After seeing the Sig 1911 Ultra it was love at first sights. This is the first Sig I have owned. I went directly to the farm. I always clean any gun I buy before I shoot it. I couldn't wait to shoot this thing. My God Bullseye after bullseye. I thought I was missing the target at first. I had to walk up to check the target the groups were so tight. My wife had to try it because she couldn't believe it. We did alot of SASS shooting but not for awhile now. If you casn get your hands on this little gun grab it. It's a 45 that can't be beat.

So would I, I'm very loyal to Ruger and love every product I have from them. I don't own any Sigs so I can't really judge them too much.

I have no loyalty to Ruger. I have a MKII. I sold an SP101.

I've got several problems with the Sig: 1) Series 80 lockwork, 2) non-standard slide profile that makes it not fit in 1911 holsters, and 3) SIG's issues with quality control.

I didn't have any issues of my SIG1911 not fitting standard 1911 holsters (and yes I used leather holsters). SIG does have issues with quality control but not on the 1911's. SIGs problems are with the Classic series pistols and is generally caused by bad parts from outside vendors.

Everything is available in MA. The limiting factor is only how badly you want it and how much time you want to spend finding it.

+1.

M1911, I also do not like the series 80 lockwork. I love the series 70 1911's. The trigger is so much smoother. I don't know anything about work being done to the SR1911 trigger but I am sure people do it. I am still waiting to get mine and can't wait any longer. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. [sad2]
