I bought this Chinese SKS over the winter, when they were on sale for about $250. The stock was pretty rough, but when I got it out to the range this spring, I loved the way it shot.
I decided to pick up one of these Chinese fiberglass "Jungle Stocks" from Tick Bite Supply to give it a facelift:
David's Collectibles SKS Stocks
It took a bit of fitting. This stock was designed for a rifle with a spike bayonet and mine has a blade, but just a little bit of filing and it went right together. From a distance, it looks kind of like a wood stock, but when you get close up, you can tell it's fiberglass.
