I received this gun quite a while ago. It was given to me buy the son of a retired Colonel US Army now deceased. The colonel received this gun when he retired after 30+ yrs of service. Now the sad part the holster,belt and ammo carrier were lost over the years. I have a copy of the DD214. So now what do you think it is worth. I figure the gun is better then 94% not a refinish all original. Thanks for the reply.

No, double that. Condition, provenance and originality apply here.

Sorry. Unless the provenance is highly unique, you will not get more than about a grand. There are too many 1917s to warrant that premium.

A New Century First Model .44 Hand Ejector in that condition, easily $2K or more. A 1917, not so much.
