I work a real healthy amount of OT , I'll have a never ending erection if they stop taxing OT.Passed the House, waiting on the Senate. Same legislation that has no tax on OT.
You know it's coming. "SSI is communism..." LOLIn before we start the SSI is an entitlement discussion.
Can I opt out yet thoughYou know it's coming. "SSI is communism..." LOL
Reagan taxed Social SecuritySSI was tax exempt until (if I remember correctly) until the Clinton Administration. So, this would make it go back to the way it was. Oh, until LBJ and his "Great Society" SSI was in a separate account he was the one that folded it into the general fund.
IM SO AGAINST IT. HOW DARE YOU NO TAX ON SOCIAL SEC, NO TAX ON OVERTIME. YOU'RE A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!Hope the hell this passes
Uhhhhh...the taxes have ALREADY been paid on SSA. The current taxes are blatant double taxation, my Statist friend.Once they get rid of social security, you won’t have to worry about the taxes.
In all honestly if they get rid of the taxes, they should reduce the payments accordingly.
Could be wrong, but I recall Klinton fighting Republican Welfare Reform, until he realized he would lose bad, then embraced it as his own idea. Then, the welfare bums were shifted over to SSI and received "Crazy Checks". Shitbag parents would claim all their crotch fruit had mental issues to get free money.Actually, I think it was Carter in 1978 that combined the welfare department into SS.
Social Security is to SSI, as Medicare is to Medicaid. In before we start the SSI is an entitlement discussion.
Yup. Incomes over 32K for married people.Reagan taxed Social Security
Wait til they tell you that you can't have it / don't need it cause you saved to much in your 401k and/or have a pension along with it.Yup. Incomes over 32K for married people.
Here's the thing, the tax is the very definition of a money grab by the Government.
The Government takes your money, as well as your Employer(s) match. Sits on it for decades. Pays you no interest so the money is NOT an investment as it hasn't earned a penny but when you start taking it the Government taxes you on money that you haven't earned any interest on.
It could happen for sure. But at that point even Taxpayer funded Government Pension bailouts must also end.Wait til they tell you that you can't have it / don't need it cause you saved to much in your 401k and/or have a pension along with it.
You won't be worrying about the taxes that come off of it because you won't be getting it.
"general fund" which LBJ used for the Vietnam War.SSI was tax exempt until (if I remember correctly) until the Clinton Administration. So, this would make it go back to the way it was. Oh, until LBJ and his "Great Society" SSI was in a separate account he was the one that folded it into the general fund.
That's MA and a separate issue....they have to balance their budget on the backs of people in MA and good luck to them as Im sure Trump will attempt to pull whatever federal money is going to that shit show.I believe MA just crossed 2 Billion Dollars in Taxpayer Money that was given away to illegals.
What is free shit, what is an entitlement, who's entitled, who isn't, who "earned" it, who didn't.
Agree.....realistically until you get spending in line you really shouldn't be giving any freebies as far as tax cuts go.Das drogas is deep in this thread.
Tell me you don't understand how the "Social Security Trust Fund works" without telling me you don't know how the SSTI works. ROFL!!!!!
As far as taxing SSI, the current system, based on the after-tax contributions and "earnings" on them, is actually pretty fair. So do you want to be treated fairly or unfairly? If unfairly, what about wimmins that purposely take low-paying jobs to get an Earned Income Credit on their taxes - effectively having a NEGATIVE tax rate? What about the guy who works as a waiter at Maison Robert pulling in $120K a year, more than half in tips - he shouldn't have to pay 22% tax on those tips, right?
Do those people "deserve" their tax "cut" just like you? Or are you specifically special? If EVERYONE is special, then we can just supsend the income tax. I mean, why bother paying taxes at all? LOL
Bottom line is the LAST thing we need right now is another tax cut. We are circling the bowl fast. No tax cuts. Find $1T in federal tax cuts. And even then, you're talking staving off national bankruptcy by. . . . a decade or so?
I've got a hard time with Uncle Sam giving people money back when we are 1/3-of-the-budget in deficit every year. Imagine making $100K a year and spending $150K.
Spending needs to go WAY down. Tax revenue needs to hold. (Historically, our tax rates are actually pretty good. But I digress.)
You can always contribute more than you pay now if you wish .Das drogas is deep in this thread.

I used to work a ton of OT. We had it figured out to the hour where it stopped being worth working as they just kept it all.Passed the House, waiting on the Senate. Same legislation that has no tax on OT.
