If you have multiple firearms and must use one, use combo locks and reset them all to the same number.

Mine are all set to open at 000, but I keep them dialed to 001.

Takes one quick flip of the 3rd number to open them.

Next time drill slow. With metal u need to drill slow it screws up the bits . If its harden metal slower is even better. A carbide drill would be best but the cost of one vs trashing a few if you don't plan on doing this often I'd just trash a few.
