Anyone know if this much-anticipated .22 version of the full-size M&P will be MA-compliant right out of the gate (or will it be months or years before it makes the Roster)?

These have been available for quite awhile now, and many shops carry them. Yes, they are MA compliant, and the ones you buy here come with a 10 rd. cripplemag.

Edit: Sorry, I misread your post, thinking it was referring to the .22 AR, sorry!

No doubt it will be a year or two post-release before a MA compliant M&P 22 (pistol) will be released. That seems to be the typical lag-time for prior guns, so most likely will apply here as well.

Wasn't the bodyguard much faster than that? It has a thumb safety, so they won't need to make a separate version for MA.

Just got an e-mail response from S&W on this question, confirming that the pistol will NOT be MA Compliant upon initial distribution. (And the S&W rep did not indicate when that initial distribution will be happening.)
