Loud is an understatement! it's a plugs and muffs kind of gun. i sure can clear out the shooting house when i break out mine......;-)

The SOCOM is loud but frankly I'd rather be standing next to one of those than a damned AR with one of those frigging Mini-Y comps on it... gack.

I had 1 but I liked my full sized M1A better and sold it. If I had the cash kicking around someday I would buy another, after a few other things.

I have one, I love it even though I'm selling it Gets alot of bad press online, although now that LMT is selling a 16" .308, lots of people are realizing that how well this round works in short rifles.

I have one. I really enjoy it, it's not loud at all. Not to me anyway, people to the left and right of me may not agree.

Depends on what you using it for. If long range I heard that the sights kind of suck because they are made for a shorter range. That's not that hard to overcome with some good sights or glass. If it were me I'd go with the Scout.

To be honest I couldn't tell the difference between the Scout the and the SOCOM. I shoot them out doors only.
