I've been itching to get an SR9C in all black for a couple months now, and I haven't seen them anywhere. Has anyone seen them lately? Looking to buy new, in MA. Thanks!

Up until recently only the two-tone was safe enough to own in MA. I just looked and they list the all black as MA approved, too. I'll be damned. Good choice, it's a great gun.

Damn it, the SR45 is still too dangerous to come in all black! [angry]

Note: The two-tone SR9c looks pretty nice nestled into the bedside with a few other stainless guns.

Where is the "list"? I'm curious if it perhaps lags a few months behind actual approval - my little sister was able to get the SR9C in all black about 6 months ago at Four Seasons.

Anyway, thanks for the post - hopefully someone has seen one in the wild recently!

Here's the current EOPSS list: http://www.mass.gov/eopss/docs/chsb/firearms/approvedfirearmsroster05-2013amended.pdf

Don't forget that there's a secret AG list that excludes many of these unless you can find a cooperative FFL (or just a regular person in a FTF sale). To be honest, I just looked at Ruger's website and saw that the all-black was MA Approved.

I'm not sure when they got it on the list, but the last time I checked you could only get stainless. You could always ask your local gun shop to order one for you.

Great choice - I got mine in a face to face so I don't have any recommendations but its a solid gun for sure.

I'll tell you the SR9c, was my first and only hand gun at the moment, but I love it! It's such an easy gun to shoot and clean. I have also been looking for another ruger in .40, but I had seen the new KSR .45acp and think I would love to hold one of those!! If you can find even the 2-tone SR9c, why not just buy it, then you can get the evil all black one later on!

Have fun and happy hunting
Charles.

Check Armslist , not that you can find alot there or a good deal but it's a free place to check. I have one and with a good cleaning and keeping her wet it's been super reliable. Oh and yes call shooters in tewks. Dont pay over 450-475.00 used

Pretty sure that's not the case, cuz I got mine back in april of 2011 in all-black.

Either way, the black is definitely the better looking IMO.... never was a fan of two tone.
I sold mine a few months back because I just never used it. Shot great, just wasn't my thing.

I could be wrong. There's a first time for everything [wink].

I saw one in my safe a few days ago.
Silly thing fell in there after one of the local gun shows (gasp) over the winter.

I saw one in my holster earlier today...lol, sorry had to. I've not seen any around at my local shops. I felt like I struck gold when I found one in January and decided to buy it against my best judgement rather then wait.

Try calling around, you'll find one if you're willing to go buy it ASAP

You could also try the NES Classifieds.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone; I've called around to them, but nobody's got the SR9C. Keep your eyes peeled for me!

The list (EOPS roster) is pretty much meaningless to you as a consumer. What a dealer actually will sell/transfer to you, however, is. They are not one in the same in a lot of cases.
