I have a Stainless Ruger Single Six that I got from an estate. I cleaned and polished it so meticulously that it looks almost new. I just bought some beautiful pearlite grips and attached them, and this gun is beautiful. But after attaching the grips a couple or three tiny dark pit marks on the backstrap have become noticeable to me, and I was wondering if this is something I can buff out myself by hand? These marks are much smaller than a pin head, but they are noticeable to me as they contrast with the beautiful white pearlite.

Damn I love this gun.

Any advice or ideas?

a variable speed dremel with a polishing rouge usually white, will not
harm the metal or remove any. try it and see what you get.

pitting may require a different rouge.
