Subscribe to a social group?

I recently joined a social group but there doesn't seem to be any way to subscribe to it. As a result the only way that I know of to see if there is an entry is to visit the group. Is there a way to know that there is a new posting to a social group?

That's a bummer. It makes social groups virtually useless.

Well, not really. You just have to go to the Social Groups page and check in. There's just no automatic notification option.

Social groups are definitely a weird way for the software developers to implement what they wanted.

It would have been a better idea to make a way for people to create their own forums in a special user-created forums section, which acted the same as any other forum, but which the creator could then moderate and to which they could subscribe folks if closed membership was desired.

Instead they've basically created somewhat different, less well designed, forum software inside the main forum software. Very weird.

I just keep the Social Group in an other tab in Firefox. Scan them every so often.

You can get to the SG's quickly through the "Quick Links" drop-down menu at the top of every page.

That's pretty much how it's going to work in the next vBulletin version. It's in beta now.

Do you know does the beta version have a "thread ignore" feature?
