SVT-40 Gas Adjustment

Looking for tips on adjusting the gas cylinder for the SVT-40. I've read online the re-pro adjustment tools are not to spec and can easily strip the adjustment lug. Once it is adjusted for a specific ammo type, say PPU, does it require periodic adjusting after that?
Anybody hear of Black River Gunsmithing?

i have a reproduction svt-40 tool. it has gas adjustment hole undersized specifically for the reason mentioned. you use mini-file to tailor fit it to your specific regulator, no stripping - perfect fit every time. it's your's for $25
