I am looking into the T/C Strike muzzleloader, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. I like the stricker fire over the hammer on my
T/C Encore, and the ease of cleaning also much easier to insert the 209 primer.

I have the impact and love it....hammer fired. But so easy to maintain and use.

Can't see anything too negative about a striker fired.

But what is the advantage of striker fire in a rifle? My impact has the best trigger of any rifle I own. Just cock the hammer......press the trigger and "tink".

There is no hammer to cock, so it is very quiet. I know you can quietly cock the hammer while pressing the trigger but if you slip (bad weather) you can end up discharging accidentally( sh*t happens).

It looks like T/C dropped the ball IMO,the Strike does not have a removable breech plug.So that you can push out an unfired round, and makes it easier to clean. It looks like the Encore FX could be the way to go.

better hope you don't forget to put a powder charge behind your sabot! there's gotta be a way to get in there though...through the 'adapt breech system,' maybe?

I have the LHR Redemption Rifle, it was made by some guys who stayed behind when T/C moved, then T/C ended up buying the redemption design, and poof, the T/C Strike was born. as a lefty shooter, it works great for me, and its very easy to charge and uncharge the striker without touching the trigger. Mine is very accurate.

the design is way different than anything else, the threads for the breech plug are on the outside, you unscrew the cap and the breech plug slides right out. can totally get to it from the back.

well...there you have it.

jtcoinflip, does the redemption have the removable primer adapters. I am lefthanded also and I am looking for as much info on these rifles as I can find.
Thanks Bill

So what do you think is the better rifle, the T/C Strike or the CVA Accura MR, or even an older (well before buy out )T/C Encore 209 x 50 magnum.I hear good things and bad things about both the T/C and the CVA.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Bill

I don't know what you mean by that, are you asking if there is a different plug to use for non 209 primers? i only use 209's with it.

The Strike allows you to choose between 2 different primer adapters, one for pellets and another for loose powder. It used to come with both, now they might include just one and sell the other as an accessory.
