I copied this off Geeks with guns.

The various sham Gun Buy Back programs that are a key tool in getting Aunt gladys to turn in late Uncle Henry's old gun beofre it crawls away and commits some nasty act are now being supported by Target Stores nationwide.

Target is giving cities $50 gift cards that they can use to folks to give up that old rifle handgun in the closet or attic.
Target is a strong financial supporter of several anti-2nd Amendment groups. Remember this when you spend your money.
Another company that spends hugh money supporting anti-gun groups is Levi-Strauss, so wear Wranglers...

I won't and don't support any thing that helps support gun control. I gave up Levi's years ago when I found out their position. Not sorry about it either. Wranglers look pretty good these days.

Can someone identify the anti-2nd Amendment groups on Target's website? I can't find any reference to this there...

No. They're an American company, headquartered in the midwest - that they're French is an urban legend.
The Target Corporation is a publicly held, U.S.-based firm which has been headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, since it began as the Dayton Dry Goods Company in 1902. Target is not now, nor has it ever been, foreign-owned. (A French-based financial institution, AXA, holds about 42 million shares of Target stock, but that holding constitutes less than 5% of Target Corporation's outstanding shares.)

just say "no" to levi's

i get "real" wrangler jeans from www.langstons.com

these are the original unwashed heavy denim jeans, stiff as a board, not the ones you get a k-mart. around $28. much better than the "fadmaster" levi's.
(i know, i'm full of websites, among other things, they say)

I don't see Walmart on that list... and that's where I get my Wranglers. [grin]

Same as I do. Has to be Wranglers, from Wally World. Used to buy them at Kohl's, the soon-to-be-ex worked at Kohl's. (Apologies to Len about mentioning Wally World, but it is appropriate this time).

We use cloth diapers on Milan, but have to buy some disposables for outings and babysitters. Since Target has the best price (even better than BJ's) my wife only gets them from Target.

I volunteer to make the purchase so that it's the ONLY purchase.

I guess that makes me an anti-supporter. Man I suck.

I have no control over my wife and really don't want to have any. She
shops where she shops and I shop where I want. Needless to say, the
fact that some places are anti doesn't seep into her mindset even if I
mention it. Oh well, this is an argument that I cannot win so I have
resorted to subliminal messaging to try to turn the train. So far, I have
not been very successful. I'll just have to "keep on truckin'" as they say.

None of us who are married have any control over our wives! [wink]

It's not that you NEED control, however you have to have a good rapport, and be able to explain your reasoning so she will agree.

Just last week, Kim and I were making out the grocery list. She has me help her with the list, but after that one "incident" involving me, the shopping cart, and high speed (I'll leave it at that) she refuses to let me go with her. So, we are making out the list, and we realize we need ketchup. I explain to her, that Heinz ketchup, is owned by the Heinz corp, and that the heir to that fortune is married to that communist, flip-flopping, Herman Munster looking, liberal, piece of shit. I told her to please get Hunts instead. She told me that she thought that Heinz tasted better, but I told her that if she got it, I would NOT eat it, and would go return it to the store.

She came home with Hunts!

Point of the story, is..... Well, I'm not quite sure, but I thought I would tell it anyway!

Wow, good for you. I just can't bring myself to using our washer after I would clean those diapers that my kids leave....

But I'm thinking about going to them because my daughter just won't freaking do big potty in the toilet....

And Adam...

I say, "Peanut, you don't want to eat at Subway, they are anti-american and have ads in other countries that bash the USofA."

She looks at me and says, "Ok."

Three days later, "What'd you guys eat for lunch?"

I had a sandwich from Subway...

I just think that some people get it and some don't. No matter what you have to say.

And for the record, I can't stand Hunts. But if you get the Stop and Shop brand Ketchup...it's just as good as Heinz and you're not supporting them.

Even though you'll find it in our house.... both bottles. I use the Stop and Shop...

It might taste as good as Heinz because it is Heinz. I can't say for sure, but I know that a lot of store brands are actually produced by the major brand manufacturers under contract, then simply packaged as if they were different products.

According to the NRA...

Might as well sit at home butt-assed-naked with no TV, radio, telephone or computer and eat the dirt outside my apartment if I were to boycott all that is mentioned.
This thread is all about Target but I didn't see them on the NRA-ILA list.

Though I found the list of actors incredibly hypocritical (imagine that) I mean:

Sylvester Stallone? Has he ever made a movie without guns? (rhetorical, yes I've seen Rocky, but how about "Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot"? it's even got shooting in the frickin' title!)

Matt Damon? Hi, could you have made any of your biggest movies without guns? "Bourne 3: Fist Fights Only"

Steve Buscemi? Seen any of your movies lately? Or how about "The Sopranos"?

It just makes me so angry to run through that list of all these people who hate guns yet I can find a picture of almost every single one of them holding a firearm. I know we've hit this topic before, but I'm cranky.

Really? You've seen these ads? (Got any links? I'm curious).

I prefer D'Angelo's, anyway. (not sure if I spelled their name right - feel free to take cheap shots if I didn't)
