I got the gun in a trade. I knew the finish wasn't perfect but the gun mechanically seemed fine. I have been polishing it the last couple weeks and I think I've hit the point where it's not going to get any better. From what I know about these guns they where police surplus from overseas i've heard Brazil or Spain...I think at some point someone without knowing might have used a harsh cleaning solvent that wore down the Nickle finish. I did the best I could without further damaging the current finish. From what i've read online once nickle has been damaged your SOL but I also know there is a wealth of knowledge that has been lost over time about old guns like these. Is there something I'm missing? can I make the flaked out portions look a little better?
Can a nickle plated gun like this be cerakoted?
