How can there be a mass legal Taurus Public Defender? I saw someone trying to sell one. I did not think any taurus guns were mass OK.

Any info would be appreciated

Thank you

except for rifles and the federal assault weaons ban and a few other obscure examples any gun can be had in ma if it is bought person to person via an FA10 form. The laws state what guns a dealer can sell. It is not even illegal for you to buy one from a dealer but it is illegal for a dealer to sell it. The law is against the dealers not the buyers.

So if my friend who lives in NH sells me a gen 4 glock 17 with hicap mags that wont be illegal. But if i go to NH and buy a 12 round mag for my m&p and bring them back into mass slap it in my gun im breaking the law. That makes no s....... never mind it does, we live in massachusetts.

Some people also have dual residency, which is an ATF thing, so if they can establish residency in another state, they can purchase in that state, and come back.

for the original poster : if you are interested in a firearm like the taurus judge the smith and wesson governor is going to be on the next approved roster and it is a 6 shot revolver that shoots 45 long colt, 45 acp, and .410 shotgun shells. it has a longer grip and will be less than any judge due to it's ma legality. check out four seasons website they have info on them up.

It is already on the roster and dealers are selling them.

sorry for the hijack but
is this the same for rifles?
person moves into mass w/ a new production rifle
w/a folding stock, is this now legal?
and can it be ftf to another ma resident?

thx

No, AWB is a different animal. You could buy what ever rifle you want, as long as it is neutered for MA.

Said another way, if any rifle brought into MA for whatever reason, has too many 'evil features' according to the MA AWB, there's nothing you can do to make it legal, if an LEO gets wind of it before it's neutered.

A violation is a violation, regardless of what your story is.

Read the handgun compliance faq in the MA gun laws subforum. The handguns themselves are usually not illegal to own or possess, it's the act of a dealer transferring it that is regulated.
