The price of components?

Anybody have a handle on the trend in reloading supply prices? I haven't bought in awhile, but today I was at a certain So. NH gun shop, and I bought some Bullseye and some small pistol primers. When I got home, I found that the primers were $2 more per 1000 than I paid for back around August, and the Bullseye was $3 less for a pound. I did do a double take when he rung me up on the powder, but I wasn't sure why.

Components are a very volatile market right now. Primers are going up, powder is going up, and bullets are going up almost daily.

I buy primers at about $90 per 5000 if that helps any. When I buy powder, I buy either 4# or 8# container to save. Last time I bought a 1# can it was $22 for American Select.

So, do you think they made a mistake on the price of the powder?

Did you buy the powder from the same shop? KTP is much higher usually than the southern NH shops.

But must prices have gone up about 15 percent recently.

Same store, last purchase was around August.

I was paying $20.00 a box for Sierra Matchking 168 grain 30 cal. in the summer. They are now up to almost $24.00. Same everywhere. Unless you can get a big bulk order up I guess we just grin and bear it.

The biggest increase I've been seeing is primers ($3-5 per 1000), although I haven't seen any good "deals" on bullets either. When I see something that seems better than average I just tend to buy a bunch of it.

I was just going to bitch about the price of lead, and found this thread... SO I'm adding to the pain.

The place that I get bullets from have really gone up...

I was getting my .357 (147gr) heads for about $28 for a 1000 and .45 (230gr) for about $32

Now my .357 is $.39 and .45 is $49. Granted that's shipped, and still only a few dollars more than getting 500 in the shops...

But HOLY MOLY! It's amazing how much lead has gone up.

I just got Federal Large Pistol primers. 10,000 for $177.90

I have some pretty good prices on components but there is volume involved.
