Thinking about a BP rifle to catch the tail end of primitive firearm season...

If you are near Marlbrough, MA Callaghuan(sp?) is a good place to go to talk about black powder.... assuming you want to talk in person rather than online :)

BTW: that is the extent of my BP knowledge [crying]

I have no experience with Remington BP, but for the price point, you could look around and/or do some research on where Remington BP's are made. Remington is having a lot of their guns built in Russia and the quality is hit-n-miss...

The best bang for the buck probably is the TC black diamond. Very reliable and very accurate. They come with fiber optic sights that are sighted in at 50 yards from the factory.

If you want to spend more there higher end models that are easier to take apart and clean.

You cannot go wrong with Thompson Center.

Watch Walmart for BP closeouts then. They had the Omega Z5 kits for $155 last year. Not all WM carry BP stuff but those that do tend to dump it.
