Looking for a decent entry hunting rifle in 308 and would like input on what people think is the better choice between the Thompson Center Venture and the Savage 10/110 Trophy Hunter XP. I know there are many other choices, but have narrowed my choices down to these two at this time. I am Looking to spend in the $500 to $600 range. I would like to stick with 308 because I have a M1A and all the reloading equipment for for that caliber. Your inputs would be greatly be appreciated.

the savage any day of the week. finely built arms at an affordable price
i have a venture in 308 and a savage in 243w i love them both, both are tack drivers the venture is slightly more accurate, both have great triggers,but I do like the venture more but this is just my preference
I appreciate all the input received! Based on your input and some web research, I have decided to go with the TC Venture. Bottom line is that both are excellent rifles and I would probably be very happy with either one. In the end I decided on the venture based on the fact that TC offers a life-time warranty.

If you must know.....I am new to the NES and was not sure where to post. I posted under hunting and did not receive very many replys...so I posted here as well.
