Does your husband like that you're giving advice to poison someone over the 'Net? Calm, down, lady. You've stirred up some drama and just let it go. The guy said it "looked like toothpaste," which was how he chose to describe the look. You then made a smart remark about it - and he can back with an even smarter one, which you took offense to do.

Typical female behavior: Stir the pot, cause drama, and then step back and act as if they did nothing wrong.

[crying]

you are such a moron..and the crybaby emoticon is wasted on me, I do not cry over the ignorance of men with no manners..

Despite the fact that half the people in this thread will just dismiss my opinion because I have two X chromosomes...

Yes, Jen posted a smartass remark. What a shocking concept on NES!! [shocked] Go read the NES bingo thread...her comment was entirely within the standards of this forum. And good luck poisoning yourself by taking a sample of anything on a gun. Talk about dramatic. [rolleyes]

Phaedo replied back on an entirely different level. His comment was rude, tasteless, and objectifying. He doesn't know her and he effectively propositioned her. Ya'll know you can't make sexual remarks to strangers on here unless you're talking to Blitz.

How would you react if some guy approached a female NESer at a shoot and asked to feel her up after she made a non-personal quip? The followup comments calling her a skirt, brushing her off as a typical hysterical female, etc just further prove the point that Phaedo's remark was sexist in nature. If he had an issue with the comment why couldn't he leave her gender out of it and respond just on the merits of what she was SAYING instead of basing his comments on what sort of internal plumbing she happens to possess?

He could have called her on the remark, taken in to PM, or actually replied back with wit. Instead he resorted to crude sexual humor. It's like using profanity...it's a tell...90% of the time it's because you lack the wit or ability to make your point without such a crutch.

(This was recovered from the home of a relative who passed away and was sitting in a safe for some time, I believe. Most of his firearms were kept in excellent condition.)

No wonder he died. You can't sit in the safe for some time and expect to live very long. I don't care how many MRE's you've got stockpiled in there.

SHE told me to TASTE the substance found inside the gun... I thought my response was rather apt.

Have your husband read it - if he's that uptight abut things, then you probably shouldn't be posting anything on the Internet.

She asked me to taste an unknown substance found within a firearm, which is potentially dangerous to one's health and I'm the "bad guy." Grow up people and understand the context in which the remark was made. (It was a comeback to her rather unhelpful and lame remark.)

You guys are a tad bit too dramatic for me. But for those who had a constructive response, thank you.

You, sir, are a moron. Smart people recognize when they've stepped over the line and own up. Dumb ones defend the indefensible..

Grow a pair and offer an apology for a remark made in haste. You'll correct a wrong, and get some respect.
