On a recent day hike, I was following the yellow trail markers down a small mountain.
Most of the markers were the common rectangular variety.
About halfway down I saw this:
Someone had used a cut off section of a rifle stock as a marker.
I wondered if it was a scrap piece of stock used after adjusting the LOP on a rifle or if someone just had an old stock and thought it was a neat idea to use it in that manner.
Either way, I thought it was pretty neat and thought a few of you here would too.
That was the first one I had noticed like that and I didn't see any others on the remainder of my hike.
Anyone know how long it takes that kind of liken to grow?
I should have grabbed the GPS data for the location; it might make a good Geo-cache.
I've seen blazes and trail makers made from paint stripes, surveyors tape, rock cairns, lids of tin cans, cut with an axe and plastic - first time I've seen anything like this.
Has anyone else seen something unique used a blaze / trail markers?
