Update on an old thread

Back in February of '09 there was a thread about an explosion in a Lexus Hybrid. Once we got past the speculation about how hybrids were bombs waiting to go off, it turned out that it was a murder attempt using a bomb.

Here's the follow up story,

Ark. doctor convicted in bomb attack

Here's the part that puts it in General and not Off Topic,

A federal jury convicted Dr. Randeep Mann, 52, of using a weapon of mass destruction and destroying a vehicle with an explosive in the February 2009 attack that nearly killed Dr. Trent Pierce.

Mann, a federal firearms dealer, also was convicted of illegally possessing 98 grenades and a machine gun. He was acquitted of illegally possessing a shotgun.

He faces up to life in prison for the weapon of mass destruction charge when he is sentenced on a later date.

As I understand it, regarding possession and sale...

For Title II items (MGs in this case), in addition to being a 01FFL, one must be a Class 3 SOT.

Exactly. Grenades are not like they are in the movies. If someone were to watch Commando a couple times, they would be sorely disappointed
