Value 3rd gen G23 with NO mags?

Have a line on a G23 that a friend is thinking of trading in. I am trying to convince him to sell it here instead. However he is going to have to sell it without the mags he has. Round count should be under 1k and this is a 3rd gen G23. Any idea on a fair / average price on this gun? If he does sell it I am going to post it here for him first (I hope).

He really wants something smaller to pocket carry so I figure the worst that can happen is he posts it here for trade instead.

No clue on the price, but your guaranteed more money in a private sale then trading it in that's for dam sure.

i picked up mine that had almost no rounds through it, with mags for $650. no mags, i'd agree with $550-$600.

Thanks for the info guys. I also told him that he needed to private sale it rather than go to a shop and take a beating. When he decides to post it I will try and get him to do it here.

Try to get him to buy a couple of mags for it, even if they are 10 rounders. The mags will increase the speed at which the gun gets sold, because an impulse buyer or a newb will not buy a magless gun.

What is the serial prefix? You can check out the GlockTalk forum, they have a thread called "Glock Serial Number Research Project (New)" lists serials with user provided data for dating purposes.
