Hi guys and gals,

I'm a member at Braintree Rifle and Pistol Club and I am interested in learning trap shooting. Total newbie, know nothing. I'm hoping to meet some good people who can help teach me, and help me find a gun that works for me. I will pay for ammo and clay.

Thank you!
Joe

Stop by the club any Sunday at 12Noon and talk with members of the Trap Committee. I'm certain that they will be more helpful than you could ever imagine.

Have fun.

[Someday I have to take my own advice. It's been ~20 years since I shot skeet or trap.]

Ayer Gun and Spoertsmens club has a public trap shoot on 18 May from 1-4pm. 3 bucks a round for house maintenance and clay.....you provide your own ammo......I'll be there and you can borrow my mossberg 500 for a round if you want. Not the most ideal shotgun for clay but it gets the job done.

To the OP (and whomever sees this thread and says, "Me, too!":

First, let the Traezoids know that you're new, and that you want help. It will make it a better, safer and more pleasant time for you.

Second, if you have no shottie, don't let that stop you - Trapezoids are generally happy to share

Third, bring your money in singes - not for strippers, but because the cashier will like you better.

Fourth, listen to the experienced shooters about how to do it - it's different from rifle and handgun.

Fifth, don't worry. There's no money riding on it, just have fun.

If you like the Taste of the Orange Kool-Aid, let the better shooters know that you want help. You'll get a lot of it! [laugh]

Thank you for your info. I'll be working May 18. I might try to go to Braintree soon on a Sunday.

We'll be there tomorrow at noon. Always some new people there and they are made to feel very welcome - I know, this will be my fourth Sunday spent there, and from the first people have been great. It really is a ball. C'mon down!
