hi guys, i feel like doing some messing around with my mp and possibly get better trigger job done on it. it feels like the trigger now is loose and the trigger reset time is too long.

i'm unsure who to go to because of the prices but the same time i want a good job done onto it. Also, i'm sort of leaning to having the sight changed, i really like the sights like this

my friend has it on his beretta and it's mad sexy. i'm kinda wanting it for my mp hehehe.

any one got ideas/suggestions? I'm considering about getting the trigger to be more professionally done since i have a feeling these guys did a shotty job. IF you can point me into the right directions, that'd be much appreciated.

some local gun smith thats for sure. at least thats what the seller said. he couldnt come out who did it, so i'm pretty much out of luck on that.

i just got an email back from greg derr, he said that it'll be around 137$ for the work to be done. 4lbs trigger pull with shorter resetting time along with 2 fiber optic sights red and green. the $ will cover the shipping back to me aswell.

think that's a good deal? or could i do samething for cheaper?

That's a good price - but if you're using the gun for carry or defense, you might want to rethink the fiber optic sight - they're fragile.

oo really? fragile... how come? any thing you recommend for me?

it'll be carry and home defense. I wont be carrying it alot, only up in the woods, camping, hunting yeah sure. home defese is a must. my house was broken into 4 times lately. my dogs are holding up the fort well but, they are old. so.... yeah

I have fiber optic sights on both of my 1911s 1 is my daily carry gun, and the other is my USPSA gun. The fiber optic tube can become dislodged, they also lose some of their light gathering capability when they get dirty, and I know of no good way to clean them. The tubes are easy to replace, and they in different colors.

I have Xpress big dots on both of my M&Ps, they work for my eyes and the type of shooting I do with those guns.

Greg Derr does great work, he has worked on all of my handguns. Lucky for me he lives near my in-laws so I can pick up and drop off during my frequent visits to the area.

+1 above. Trijicon night sights are a good choice if you're worried about seeing them in low light too.

doesnt stock mp's have trijicon sights? thought it do or is some standard issued sights or something?

No it's an option on civilian models. FS .45 LE version ONLY comes with Trij night-sights, no option (don't know about other versions for LE). All the SKUs that start with "3" are LE versions.

JPG of SKUs and features for the .45 is linked below (full-screen width so I won't set it to open when you read this).

Greg Derr is Da Bomb.

He has worked on every handgun in my collection.

He's addictive.

+1 Greg is the man. I paid him a little extra to have my MP worked on same day. Dropped off he told me to go eat lunch and come back and my gun was done. He's a really nice guy, does great work, and is very knowledgeable. He gets the work on all my future pistolsmithing needs.

Make sure ANY gunsmith you deal with understands that you want the gun for CARRY and HOME DEFENSE, and that the work they do will not compromise the reliability and safety of the weapon.

There are many custom trigger jobs out there that are fine for THE RANGE, but would NEVER be considered SMART for a carry gun.

Like my 3 lb pull break like glass zero over travel instant reset 1911 that the gunsmith fixed up for me! [smile] RANGE ONLY - NEVER TO BE CARRIED
