21 is way more comfortable and fun to shoot. Seems to be a lot more pre ban high caps available as well.
There were more G21 pre-ban mags made than G20, if that is what is meant. However, good luck finding them.
Yes indeed. They're the most common pre ban mag you can find compared to all other calipers. And I'm not talking U notch. 90% of the time, a used G21 will come with a PB mag. You can find them. You don't need luck.
ETA: I'm always in non free state way of thinking unfortunately. A 21 will be at least $200 less on average that a 10mm. Not sure of OP's location.
Glock 17. 9mm is cheaper than 10mm and 45, and extra practice is more important than the differences in terminal ballistics.

I'm assuming this is for carry, because otherwise why get anything except a 1911?
Def a glock...I would buy what ever caliber you can readily find in your area.
Full sized HK in 45.
Because like any every other gun, 1911s have their disadvantages.

Thanks for all the great advice, I was looking to keep the cost down so that's why I was leaning towards a glock, I have a 27 and love it. I want to eventually get a 1911, I just am trying to keep it simple for now. I just have this burning desire to buy something full size that delivers a massive amount of punch. Nobody told me this sport was so addicting, I only started shooting regularly in October, and cant get enough of it.
Yeah, but for a range toy, the 1911 is hard to beat.
I'm with you on anything defensive in nature. But for punching paper, a good 1911 rules. I can shoot clover leafs at 30 ft all day long with my Les Baer 1911. I'm not even close to that with my G34.

I find that particularly on shorter range stages, I'm significantly faster with my Glock 34 than my Wilson 1911, and I've been shooting 1911s for 20+ years.
Interesting. Well you've figured out the Glock reset. Ha.
How do you do slowfire with the Wilson vs the G34?
I had a 23 and though it was reasonably accurate, its recoil did not agree with me.
