What to use on wood stocks?

I don't use linseed oil.
I use Formby's Tung Oil Finish.

I use BLO (boiled linseed oil) on my carbine and garand stocks and they come out great.

Why haven't I seen you at our American Zootshooters match?
What's American Zootshooters? I just got it a couple of days ago.
For my old wood the first thing i did was clean it with murphys oil soap, then hit it with lemon oil
I know a few guys that take tung oil and spar varnish and mix 50/50 - the spar varnish is 50% tung oil so cutting it makes the varnish very light, just enough to protect the oil - hand apply with a rag. After that if you get a scratch just break out the bottle and rag to reapply - this way you arent putting excessive amount of finish on the wood but still protecting it.
